"Active environmental education at the green routes - Greenways" 2009-2011
"Active environmental education at the green routes - Greenways" is a project by the Polish Environmental Partnership Foundation in cooperation with: the Urban Mines (UK), Environment Lillehammer (Green Business Norway), the Environmental Partnership for Sustainable Development, Foundation for Environmental Education (Denmark), European Cyclist Federation (Norway , Germany, Iceland)
The project aims to use natural and cultural trails - Greenways (developed by Polish Environmental Partnership Foundation) to:
- Environmental education for sustainable living,
- reduce Greenhouse gas emissions (especially CO2) by promoting ecological means of transport.
Project objectives will be achieved through the following actions:
- creating system of eco-certification (within the project will be 450 environmental certificates,
- creating six Centres for Environmental Education (CEE) which will be promoting eco-lifestyle and providing examples of sustainable development,
- developing online tool "CO2 calculator" used for monitoring of CO2 emissions by companies, institutions, local communities, individuals and Greenways visitors.
