With energy of the Schools for Sustainable Development for the Green Flag Clubs
Implementation time: 01/07/2010 - 30/09/2011
Project co-financed by the National Fund for Environmental Protection
and Water Management.
The project aims to draw
attention on saving energy and on renewable energy.
The project will set up 8 regional
Clubs of Green Flag, which with theirs local coordinators will become centers
of education and environmental activities. The
aim of Clubs will be a joint action of schools and their partners to help them
effectively manage energy to not only save money but also reduce the negative
impact on the environment. We expect
that during the school year, more than 200 schools will reduce their energy
consumption by 20%.
Local coordinators from eight
Polish regions - provide for schools several educational workshops on energy
management and solutions to reducing its consumption. These workshops will give schools necessary
knowledge and also will inspire schools to take action which will influence a
more energy-friendly lifestyle at school and beyond. Additional scenarios will allow
teachers to continue this theme in the school with theirs students. It will be also released a new guide,
"Schools for Sustainable Development by the Green Flag," which will
guide the school all the way to achieve the certificate.
Moreover, the project involves the
competitions:
- A new edition of the
certificates of Local Center of Environmental Action and Green
- Grants for schools which are
planning activities relating to safe energy or renewable energy - about 30
grants
- Competition for teachers for
best teaching scenario about energy saving
- Competition for students for
the best movie and comic about the energy
- Competition for the school for
code of environmental conduct
- Summary Conference in 2011 in which the winning
schools will receive certificates
